L'iconografia scelta per rappresentare il Sole fonde l'astro come lo rappresentò Pablo Picasso in "Guernica" ( ridotto ad una lampadina) e la rappresentazione del dio Sole che si presentò nel periodo della storia dell'Antico Egitto governato da Akhenaton ( XVIII^ dinastia).
Quest'ultimo infatti attuò una vera e propria riforma religiosa, sovente e maldestramente assimilata ad un monoteismo, in cui pose al di sopra di tutti gli dèi ( ma non li eliminò affatto) il dio Sole, Aton Ra. La sua fu appunto definita la religione della luce, fondata sulla "nuova teologia solare", studiata in particolare da Jan Assmann, che si ritrova in inni, rituali e libri dell'Aldilà della XVIIIsima dinastia.
Il dio Aton Ra veniva rappresentato nel momento in cui scalda la Terra: da lui emanano dei raggi che terminano con delle mani, così sembra che il Sole accarezzi e benedica al contempo le creature terrene.
The iconography I've chosen to represen the Sun merges the representation of the planet in Pablo Picasso's "Guernica" ( the light bulb) and the one chosen by Akhenaton - Amenofi IV in the epoch of the Ancient Egypt he ruled as a Paraoh ( XVIII dinasty).
Akhenaten tried to bring about a departure from traditional religion, yet in the end it would not be accepted. He implemented a religious reform, often and clumsily liken to a monoteism, establishing the supremacy above all the Gods ( but never ever erasing them) the Sun God, Aton Ra. His religion was called the religion of the light, based on the "new solar theology", especially studied by Jan Assmann, that can be found in the Afterlife hymns, rituals and books from the XVIIIth dinasty.
Aton Ra was depicted at the moment in which He warms the Earth: the Sun emanates rays that ends with little hands, so it seems that the God caresses and meanwhile blessesall living creatures.
