La Citroën DS, la "Dea", venne prodotta dal 1955 al 1975. Un'auto creata perchè lo sguardo scivoli sopra e poi prenda la rincorsa in avanti, un' auto creata per essere ammirata da qualsiasi posizione la si osservi, con quel suo musetto allungato e i suoi due occhioni aperti, la posizione posteriore rannicchiata come quella di un'atleta che sta per scattare all'inizio di gara.

In un questionario sottoposto ad alcuni tra i più famosi designer automobilistici, alla domanda "Qual'è l'auto che avresti voluto progettare?" la risposta è stata, nella maggioranza di loro, la "Dea".

The Citroën DS car, the "Deity"-"Déeese", was produced from 1955 since 1975. It is a car created for the sight to slide upon it and then to take a run ahead, a car created to be admired anywhere we look at it, with its extended nose and its eyes wide open, its crouching rear like it was an athlete ready to spring up at the beginning of a competition.
In a questionnaire submitted to the most famous car designers, most of them stated that the "Deity" is the car they would have had designed.

Alcune donne sono intente a stendere i panni del bucato all'aperto. L'auto sta percorrendo una strada di campagna e passa vicino a loro: una di esse si volta a guardarla, incuriosita, affascinata, sognando.

Women are hanging out the clothes. The car is driving a country road and passes by: one girl turns her eyes at it, intrigued, fascinated, dreaming.

La silohuette della macchina si confonde col panorama, le sue curve con quelle delle colline circostanti, interrompendo la quotidianità dei gesti più semplici senza creare una frattura, ma silenziosa ammirazione che feconda la fantasticheria, il sogno. La vettura non è presente perchè è in movimento, nella teca resta solo la visione del suo passaggio: la visione frontale quando si avvicina alle donne, la visione laterale quando passa loro accanto, quella posteriore quando le ha superate. La visione dall'alto rappresenta un altro punto di vista: mentre i precedenti sono soggettivi, si riferiscono allo sguardo delle donne intente a stendere i panni, questa è la prospettiva dall'alto, che abbraccia tutto il paesaggio immaginario, che comprende i prati, le colline, il cascinale da dove proviene il gruppo di donne.

The car's silohuette get muddled with the landscape, its curves with the hills around her, interrupting the daily homey acts without a crack, evoking a silent admiration that gives birth to the daydreaming. The car is not there because it is on the go, in the display case only remains the vision of its passage: the front of the car when approaching the women, its side when passing by, the rear of the car vision when it goes past. The bird's eye view shows another point of view: while the previous  are subjective ones, referring to the women point of view, this angle takes in the landscape at a glance, the country, the fields, the hills, the farmhouse from which the group comes from.
